The Secret Life of Six
Six months as a forever family...six months of smiles, six months of silly, six months of seeing life through the eyes of singing, spirited sprout. So much to be thankful for this holiday season. We are looking forward to the arrival of family and friends for Thanksgiving Day and the wonder that this holiday season will bring to the joyful boy we love more and more by the minute.
Speech sessions are underway and we are making progress already...flash cards in hand and teacher Becca to charm...we are hearing new sounds and words already. Soon we predict full paragraphs.

How to explain Thanksgiving and what not to wear...

Apparently Van's Thanksgiving is clothing optional
So awesome Aunt Beth finds the coolest toys. Voila, Thanksgiving in a box, all here in sturdy plastic. The Pilgrims and the Indians, the turkey and the horse and buggy...what more could we need...pants perhaps? Well apparently Van didn't agree with that idea but he did feel inclined to invite some additional friends to the party...his Howard, the duck and a random clown and clown car attend the festivities. His cute socks are from Aunt Beth too and he agreed that socks are a good idea for a holiday celebration.
We are enjoying an uneventful fall weekend at home and looking forward to family and friends joining us for our non plastic turkey for the real Thanksgiving meal

Halloween Weekend
Many more photos to post from our super fun Halloween day and night and our busy DC weekend. Our play date at www.chatandplaycafe.com was a huge success. Our twin pals are so much fun and Van just loves being with them. We could have stayed all day and we probably will next time we go. What a great concept for moms...only wish I had come up with it.
Then came a nice long 2 hour nap to rest up for the big night. Aunt Christina gave us some awesome Halloween gifts that included the Pirate makings for our pumpkin. Van loved that craft project.
Off for candy...Van figured out the whole Halloween concept by house #3...he walked hand in hand with his new buddy, the Hulk, and proceeded to ring doorbells and hold out his bag for candy and several times reached into the candy dish to retrieve the goods. He was jumping and skipping down the street and enjoying the whole party-like atmosphere that is our family friendly neighborhood.
Saturday we headed up to DC to celebrate the first birthday of our pal and goddaugther. It was a great party...lots of kids and CAKE...Van loves cake!
Next was a play date and yummy dinner with Syracuse friends and a new 2 year old friend, Cara. She had some really cool toys so that was a huge hit as well.
Finally we woke up at Aunt Claire's house and played and played and played some more. We could not have asked for a better weekend or a more amazing happy kid.
Our first of many November thanks is for the happy smiley boy we've come to love with all our hearts.
