Hallow-eve...and Batman is so ready!

"Mommy, Daddy work, BIG Halloween party"...Van's first words on waking up this morning...guess the party made a BIG impression.

The photographer asked him to make a silly face.
The Arnold pose was his idea.

Once he saw his pal, Darren (http://www.Twinfatuation.blogspot.com/) behind that mask, he was not 'fraid.

Thanks Meredith for this cool ghost

Yes, my mouth is full of candy!

Funny Man Van

Van's speech is certainly allowing us to see more of his personality and he really is a pretty funny kid. He certainly has a zest for life that makes the people around him smile. His glee just rubs off on friends and strangers. Funny stuff...

He greets everyone (yes really everyone he sees) with a big "hi" in stores, at school, in the neighborhood.

Whenever the doorbell rings, he jumps up to answer it (usually wearing just his Thomas the train undies) which is funny in and of itself. He proceeds to open the door (yeah those child safety knobs don't work much anymore) and then says "Come ON into my house".

Whenever anyone leaves the house, (he's still in undies cause why get dressed for company) he has the reverse move of escorting them out and saying, "Be careful out there, cars coming".

Sometimes he finds something so funny like the mommy says "yes", Van says "no" game, that he laughs hard enough to give himself the hiccups.

His new favorite phase-"Oh Shoot" followed by hysterical laughing whenever something goes amiss. Yes, he heard it from mommy when her bags fell to the ground in the pouring rain...I really did say "Shoot", I swear!!

His word Pumpkin sounds more like "Thumbkin" and his Helicopter apparently has the letter B in the middle, "helbicopter".

Whenever someone asks his name, he loudly spells it...V-A-N...good thing we picked a short name!

The funny funny boy we love so much.

Fairy Godmother strikes again for all Three Amigos

The Three Amigos got an adorable care package from Aunt Beth. She made these super cute boxes filled with fun for the threesome. We broke them out for an awesome park play date. Logan figured out right away that the boys on the back of the shirts were twins and one and decided he wanted to wear Van's shirt instead...one for all and all for one in this gang. A huge hit all around and the mommies even got in on the fun!

"My favorite part of the day..." by Cowboy Van

Apparently Van lives the movie Ground Hog Day cause every day we get the same answer to our question. It goes like this..."Van, what was your favorite part of the day?"
Answer ..."Ummm, my favit part of day mumble mumble mumble, (octaves rising now) RIDE THE HORSEY!"
He did ride two horses actually- the one at the Pumpkin Patch and this one. Not an every day occurrence at our ranch but obviously a favorite memory for him.

"You've Got Yourself a Real Talker"...Music to my ears

This comment came from a complete stranger today but in the nicest way...seriously. She was amused and entertained by Van's non-stop chatter and conversation...with everyone and anyone who might stop to listen. It's a verbal assault really, an explosion of words and thoughts and sentences and emotions and it's all making sense. It has clicked for him now and he just can't stop. Thank you to all who said, "just you wait, you might be sorry", it's true...but we aren't sorry at all...couldn't be happier actually. To just hear his cute little voice and understand all the thoughts that are going on up in that head. The speech teacher told me today that he's got "S" down, totally age appropriate on that one and now we are moving to multiple syllable words and 4 year old sounds...wow, wow, wow.
He's now progressed Scott and I to just "dad" and "mom", although I do still get some "mommies" in there once in a while for good measure. He loves to sing..."Boom, Boom, Pow" is still high on his play list, he names kids in his class, (Katherine is apparently his type!), he tells me what they did in school and he makes very specific requests now for TV shows, food and driving directions..."No mom, turn right"...and he's usually right too.
Videos soon so you can hear it too.
