Fun for Friday

Especially one who runs outside in his underpants to play in his sandbox. So sorry I missed this photo-op.
Happy Friday!!

By the Sea, By the Sea, By the Beautiful Sea

Guess who loved the ocean and the sand and the swimming and of course having his two best buddies in the world to play with...

Gotcha Day May 20th

I can remember it so clearly as if it was only yesterday. My heart skipped a beat when I reached for you. And it’s been with you every second of every day since. You walked in that room hand in hand with the orphanage director so confident, so ready, so sure, so unafraid. We waited on the couch as instructed, hearts pounding, feet running in place to just run over and grab you forever. You didn’t even look over to us as if to savor the moment when our eyes would meet for that very first time. Giving us a moment to compose ourselves, to ready us for the joy and happiness you would bestow on us each and every day since.
And then minutes later, you came strutting out with that lead paint nightmare of a “toy” ball and bounced it to me as if to say, “I’m in charge now” and oh how right you were! You walked into my heart and shortly after my arms and those eyes said I’m ready, take me home. Yes the cheerios are yummy and the toys are fun but I see lots more in store for me and I’m ready. So are we!

May we live up to our promise to China to take the utmost care of this precious gift. May a family in China know in their hearts that the little boy who needed the medical help got it and now he lives happily ever after.

Happy Gotcha Day…Happy Forever Family.

Catching up

So far behind on the posts and the fun...many Gotcha Day thoughts and pixs to post soon but let's start with our first berry pickin' adventure with buddy Ada. We had the fields almost entirely to ourselves and we ate our weight in juiciness...

Race Day

This year was Van's first of what I hope to be many "Race for the Cure" events. He enjoyed the ride and the great crowds of people and finally getting to meet Aunt Nancy! We had a fantastic day at this worthwhile and wonderful event. Next year maybe we get Van his very own shirt...

Daddy Day

Daddy certainly delivered on Diaper Day yesterday...Daddy did all things domestic-Daddy did dishes, Daddy depleted huge piles of laundry, Daddy dished up dinner and Daddy demanded that Mommy take a spa day...Dear Dear Daddy!! Today Daddy devoted his day to Van...what more does a stressed Mommy deserve?
The boys had a great day today despite remnants of yesterday's yuck. Things are certainly looking up around here.
Fun picture post as promised from our Friday Play Day...the threesome ruled the Water Play area.

Mothers Day = Diaper Day

So the whole 1st Mother's Day scene out of the movie in my head went something like this...sleep in while Daddy and Van play downstairs for a few hours, be blessed at my very first Mother's Day mass with our little man behaving angelically, enjoy the beautiful sunshiny day with my boys and finally try to ignore/mentally prepared for Van's "boy" surgery scheduled for tomorrow.
Now for the reality TV show version-6:30am Van wakes up screaming and tearing off his diaper...1st yuck of the day. 6:30-9am Van refuses to let mommy leave his sight...app 3 more diaper changes...losing count already. 10am Feeling much better, ready to dress Van for church...yikes more yuck...11am Mommy goes off to church without her boys :( 12:30 Mommy drives thru McDonalds for a fabulous Mothers Day lunch since fatty foods are the recommend for helping with the big D...funny McDonalds not so crowded on Mother's Day...go figure. 2pm Not napping surprise surprise. 4pm Playing outside and having fun...maybe we are done with yuck...5pm...oh no here we go again and now add the rash that goes along with the fun and we're screaming and we can't sit down...yes it's still Mother's Day right? 7pm still changing diapers...time to call the surgery center. They advise postponing the snip surgery...ahhh first sigh of relief for mom all day.
Despite the madness, I feel truly honored to be Van's mommy and Scott's wife on this day and every day. They light up my life with love and laughter and make even the yuck days in life the best any gal could have.
Love to all the moms we know and love out there today and every day.
Promise to post some fun pix from our weekend pre-yuck later this week.

Who Loves Being 3??

You guessed it!!
Van's mommy crush, Donna of http://twoheartsinguatemala.blogspot.com/ made him his very own 3 tee shirt today just like the ones that Austin and Logan have. He insisted on wearing it all night. Our crazy double flat tire day...yes two flat tires on the left side of the mini van this afternoon...ended up a fantastic play date day. Thanks again to mommy Donna and Nonnie and Austin and Logan. Oh yeah and Fletcher Tires for patching the two ripped up tires and only costing us 30 bucks...somebody is smiling down on all of us!
Happy Weekend.
