The first of many days of gift opening for Van...note his comment..."Mommy, me want borrow this". It didn't take long for him to figure out that you actually get to keep presents, not borrow. Guess my lesson on borrowing from the library and giving back might be sinking in...

Merry Christmas to all from Van/Whoville. We are having an awesome day playing with ALL of our loot. Santa and all his family of elves were very very good to this little boy this year. He is proclaiming "my favorite" and "I love this" every time he picks up something to play with. Rejoice, rejoice...love and peace to all this wonderful day!

More wintry fun!

As you all know, Van is not a big fan of clothing but mention going out in the snow and he can dress himself in a heartbeat. We made our neighborhood Christmas cookie deliveries today and got the scoop on the best toddler friendly sledding hill. We headed there without a camera sadly but had an absolute blast. Of course the immediate removal of clothing to enjoy more hot cocoa was in order...warm and cozy inside again in undies!

Legendary Santa visit

Richmond has a Legendary Santa...he's been here since the 1930s and he's pretty awesome. We've decided to make this visit a Christmas tradition. Van took an immediate liking to the guy...who wouldn't! He also enjoyed meeting the Snow Queen who you can see in the background of the video. He's very fascinated with "pretty dresses" lately...who knows where that will lead?

To the Principal's office we go...

Our goal...stay out of the "principal's office" at preschool for one full semester...well, we almost made it...so close...one week shy...oh well there is always next semester.
The Preschool director told me today that she and Van spent some quality time together in her office working on next year's budget. Great...hopefully he learned how to make his money go a long way. Apparently he's a bit stressed out about the holidays like the rest of us. She said it's typical since his brain is going at warp speed on language development and the excitement of the holiday season. Just needed to document what I hope is a one and only visit...

Last Sunday's fun...a visit to Historic Fredericksburg to meet our good friends from DC...the perfect meeting spot...great lunch, fun walk and cute kids...what else do you need...a train display of course!!

Bike-a-Thon

Van's first fund raiser...not sure he grasped that concept at all but he certainly understood "bike race". Did he understand the bike route...apparently not...
It was truly too cute for words and yes he is taking donations...He completed 20 yes 20 laps.
