Had to post some of the cuteness from the birthday celebration. No big doings for Zak this year since we are now officially overwhelming him with holidays! He's fairing quite well on all the chaos and change but big brother is struggling a bit with all the change. They have some amazing days together and the giggles are just beyond adorable but the sharing struggles and the "I want what he has" moments are still big. Every day it gets better...I don't want to jinx the throwing yet but since we brought out our old buddy, "Elf on a Shelf" today, it's gotten remarkably better. Santa is watching is in full force in this house!
Boys and throwing...yikes. It's consuming me...ideas anyone?? I know it will stop eventually. I know we went through it with Van. But two boys and all these toys and targeting each other...it's alot for this mom to handle. Today was a day full of "toy time-outs" and "boy time-outs". Mommy had no mommy magic. Then along comes Zak...working his way out of a whiny moment, he hugs me and says "I love you Mommy". Already. Clear and with meaning, he says "I love you Mommy". That's when it all fades away and throwing and whining aren't really what matters. He matters and we matter as his family. It is truly a blessed thanksgiving at our toy chucking house!
you stole our hearts. Our family is beyond blessed with the joy, the cuteness and the humor you bring to us. Tomorrow you turn 3 and we get to celebrate your first birthday as a family. Van has a new little song he sings for Zak..."who has a baby in their family"...we do and he's growing up too fast already. We love you Zak, we love love love you!
Forgot to post these photos from our first day home in the good ole USA. Home two weeks now and it feels like forever ago that we were on that long long plane ride. Van still tells me daily "Mommy, I'm so happy to be back in Virginia". We all are indeed. And yes, Zak sleeps with his eyes semi-open...
Once again it's the Mt. Pisgah preschool fundraiser Wheel-a-thon aka "bike race" for Van. This year he manages to stay on course but pulls a Tony Stewart on the first turn...(red helmet, gray Lightning McQueen sweatshirt...for extra speed...of course)
You bet...home one week and Zak decided he was ready to check out his new preschool class. He was visibly distraught when Van rejoined his preschool buddies so we knew it wouldn't be long before Zak was ready to try for himself. Thanks to Miss Liza for making this transition so great and for the cute pix. This little guy loves life and everything about it and we couldn't love him more.
The long awaited reunion of the three amigos plus one finally happened today. Now they are four and Lil man fell right in with the crowd...didn't miss a beat. Oh the fun we will have...
Still working to get back on US time but we managed some smiles for Halloween even if we never made it out to trick or treat... We've still got some fun images to share from the trip too so stay tuned.
Welcome to our family blog. We were so happy to create this blog for our journey to bring Van home. Now we are thrilled to be adding Zak to our family and sharing our growing family adventures with all of you.
