Our DC Day

As part of Van's birthday celebration, we took him up to The Kennedy Center for what we hope is the first of many live music events there for him. The Teddy Bear Concerts are geared to kids 3 and up and they get to bring along their favorite pal. Of course Howard was along for our ride. And what a ride it was...little did we know that it was also peak cherry blossom weekend. As past DC residents, we should have known better but it caught us by surprise. Traffic was a mess so we ended up arriving a bit late but it turned out to be an awesome adventure. Van loved the music and the airplanes.
On Sunday we finally got the bouncy bounce fully inflated and enjoyed the beautiful weather at home.

Birthday Blog....finally....

Yes we did it...we celebrated Van's birthday as a family...the big 3! Wow, last year's birthday cake shipped from across the world to a little boy we hadn't met yet seems like a million years ago. He's home, he's VAN, he loves us and we love him more than words can possibly express. He has the love and support of so many amazing family members and friends that sometimes I think life just doesn't get much better than this...

The end of early intervention

In case you haven't heard...Van had a HUGE crush on his speech therapist and last week he had his final session with her since he's aged out of the early intervention program. Before we post his birthday bash, I wanted to share his first crush. Can't wait to show these to him when he's a teen!

It was indeed! Fun fun family weekend for lil man. Rode a pony...practiced for easter egg hunting with pinecones a plenty and played with lovin' family. Less than a week away from 3 years old...life is good...

10 Happy Months

Today marks 10 months of Van in the house...ten times the toys, ten times the tickles, ten times the tenderness of his silly self. We love you Van, the long wait to bring you home seems oh so long ago.
