Long Overdue

School started and poof it's almost Halloween.  I guess getting into our new non-summer groove took longer than expected.  Feels like we are on a roll now.  Looking forward to the season of candy that's about to begin and all the fun fall festivities.  Van is tackling 1st grade head on with an awesome teacher and plenty of stories.  Zak is king of preschool and starting to work on letter recognition and hand writing.  It's both funny and surprising to hear, see, listen to what they do know and even funnier what they don't but think they do.  We hear a lot of conversations that start with "Did you know..." and we love it.  Learning, loving and laughing...how we are rolling around here.

First Day First Grade

Van-"When I grow up, I want to be a 12th Grader".  Thank goodness we aren't there yet...think we'll enjoy this 1st grade thing for a while longer, at least a year.   First day was declared "great".   Makes my heart so happy that this boy loves school.

1st Grader and Fashionista

 Both in the house this week together for only a few more days...both happy and sad about the upcoming adventures for these two loves of my life.   They continue to amaze me every day with their joy and their happiness.  Feeling blessed beyond belief today.

Special Post for "The Greats" as in Grandparents

We had a fantastic family reunion this weekend and the boys were as silly/happy/crazy/wild as they will be, after spending a mere 3 hours in the car.  It's always such a treat to have this clan together...lots of laughs and lots of great moments to capture and treasure.  

The Lazy and not so lazy days of summer

The summer is certainly flying by and the boys are packing in the fun...lots of friends and playdates, camps and VBS, road trips and swimming.  Not so much photography by mom tho...gotta work on that.

 

Turtle Pee

In the event that you haven't seen turtle pee first hand, Zak will be more than happy to give you the play by play of what it looks, feels and smells like.  Let's just say the reptile party was a HUGE hit with these brothers and their Dad.  Van is now lobbying for 7 small crocodiles and 7 turtles...the good news is that he's willing to wait till he's 12 to get them.  Lucky us...hoping that he forgets or moves on to something else by then.
These boys know fun when they see it.
