The three most overheard words in our house...

"Watch this, Zak".
One day I will actually count the number of times I hear this phrase. It is usually followed by an action that requires an immediate reaction and do-over with Monkey See, Monkey Do precision. Brotherly (aka Superhero) love at it's best...

Santa did good with the costume box!

Merry Christmas to all!!

So many magic moments for this first brother holiday. So much excitement and so much fun and oh yes...did we mention plastic...so much plastic!!
Van-"I'm so happy to have a brother this Christmas. This is a great Christmas day."
Enough said. Lots and lots more pix to post...

Closing in on the Countdown

The advent calendar was a HUGE hit with our guys...they alternated days and did a great job of cheering each other on for the big reveal. The excitement of the month has been non-stop. They can barely contain themselves. I guess the fact that I did let Van eat a Reindeer Peep for breakfast this week probably didn't help with the frenzy! It's such a treat to see their joy at the smallest of holiday details-the sprinkles on the cookies, the Christmas shaped marshmallows, the ribbons, the reindeer ears and the Santa hats...I don't want it to end but I can hardly stand the build up to the big day either. Counting down with them and loving every minute of it! Hope everyone has a holiday this blessed!!

ICE and Peeps!

Van was super excited to take Zak to see The Grinch in ICE at the National Harbor with Mimi, Big Daddy and Aunt Claire. We saw the show last Thanksgiving at the Gaylord in Texas with Fairy Godmother Beth and Uncle Dan so Van remembered it well...especially the ice slide. It's cold in there...really cold...but the boys had a blast as usual. The Peep Christmas tree candy and hot cocoa at the end was a bonus and then finding a Peeps store was the icing on the sugery day. Van calls them "Puffs" so I am sure when he wakes up any minute now, his first question will be, "Where are my Puffs?"...
Mommy loved the giant "Puffs" Christmas tree!

Santa meets the shy brothers

After many attempts at stopping the silly faces, we managed to get a decent Santa picture. Scott snuck in an extra shot of our own too. Santa immediately went on break after our antics. Zak bent down to kiss him as he was leaving and Santa said..."oh my I thought he was going to bite me." Merry Christmas to you too Santa!!
