Mothers Day = Diaper Day

So the whole 1st Mother's Day scene out of the movie in my head went something like this...sleep in while Daddy and Van play downstairs for a few hours, be blessed at my very first Mother's Day mass with our little man behaving angelically, enjoy the beautiful sunshiny day with my boys and finally try to ignore/mentally prepared for Van's "boy" surgery scheduled for tomorrow.
Now for the reality TV show version-6:30am Van wakes up screaming and tearing off his diaper...1st yuck of the day. 6:30-9am Van refuses to let mommy leave his sight...app 3 more diaper changes...losing count already. 10am Feeling much better, ready to dress Van for church...yikes more yuck...11am Mommy goes off to church without her boys :( 12:30 Mommy drives thru McDonalds for a fabulous Mothers Day lunch since fatty foods are the recommend for helping with the big D...funny McDonalds not so crowded on Mother's Day...go figure. 2pm Not napping surprise surprise. 4pm Playing outside and having fun...maybe we are done with yuck...5pm...oh no here we go again and now add the rash that goes along with the fun and we're screaming and we can't sit down...yes it's still Mother's Day right? 7pm still changing diapers...time to call the surgery center. They advise postponing the snip surgery...ahhh first sigh of relief for mom all day.
Despite the madness, I feel truly honored to be Van's mommy and Scott's wife on this day and every day. They light up my life with love and laughter and make even the yuck days in life the best any gal could have.
Love to all the moms we know and love out there today and every day.
Promise to post some fun pix from our weekend pre-yuck later this week.

What an illustration of what an amazing mama you are!

It ain't always purty, but motherhood is always memorable! (This is one to remind him of in the teen-age years... ;) )
