Pre-Op Bouncing

Zak's surgery is set for Monday morning 7am. Today seemed like the perfect day to play and bounce with our Families of the China Moon friends. Smiling, sliding and bouncing in anticipation of a quiet week ahead. We've been talking to the boys a lot about the upcoming surgery. Hoping it will sink in so Van remembers to keep his hands off little brother for a few days. So far I think what has sunk into their little brains is the following:

"Zak cannot eat crunchy food because he didn't say thank you to me"- Van
Zak-"I don't want to play robot."...following my description of how Zak's arms will be straight like a robot when he wears the arm restraints.
Van-"you have to be quiet in the hospital."
Zak-"I want to watch Mr. Incredible"...after I used that as a reference for the mom feeding Baby Jack-Jack in the movie.

Oh well, hopefully it will all make sense to both of them soon enough. Please think happy thoughts on Monday morning for this happy little smiley boy and his loving, worried big brother.

Nutzy and the BFG

We have a star studded Saturday with our best buddies. Lots and lots of face time with our favorite mascot, Nutzy and then the boys sitting attentively and mostly quiet through a fun theater performance of The Big Friendly Giant aka The BFG. Thanks to the Nonnie and Nanie team for supplying the snacks and extra hands. Van has been asking for the BFG all week..."I miss the BFG" and Zak wants to know "where is Nutzy?". I'd call that a memory made.

More Valentine sweetness

Had to post these cute pix before the Valentine candy ran out...believe it or not, Van still has quite a few sweets in his "mailbox". Thanks again to Fairy Godmother Beth for prepping all the elements to make this super fun craft!

Brother Love...the series

Sharing the love was big around here today. It starts out sweet but then turns all boy!
Hope everyone had a sugary sweet Valentine's Day...these boys sure did. Thank you Fairy Godmother Beth for these awesome shirts!

A Walk/Run in the Park

Finally a day warm enough to take on Wishing Well park. The boys were out in force. Fresh air followed by naps...I'd call this a perfect Sunday!

Year of the Rabbit Parade

Since Van got sick during our annual Superbowl party this year, I didn't get any fun party pix so we'll just continue to enjoy the fun we had with our China friends.
I love how Van stopped and waited for lil brother...too cute.

Happy New Year!

Yes, Zak continues to celebrate in style since his arrival home in October! We had a wonderful evening with our Families of the China Moon group tonight to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit. Both boys were super excited to don their Chinese garb and celebrate in style. The lion head was of course the most popular attraction and Zak's hat got quite a few compliments.
