Just a quick post to let you all know that we've arrived safely at the Victory Hotel and luck is on our side as we landed room #888!
Tomorrow is the big day...it truly is too exciting for words at this point. I am getting teary just typing it. The children will be arriving from various orphanages all day tomorrow. We might try to get there a bit early to witness all the joy.
We had a good morning in Beijing visiting the Forbidden City and Tianamen Square and our Air China flight here was very uneventful. The weather is much more humid.
We've gotten ourselves organized and settled so now we get our last night's sleep. Tune in tomorrow...

Well you are having your last night sleep before becoming a family of three. How exciting!! Just 15 more hours before meeting Van. I am sure he will be scared but it will take him no time at all to realize what wonderful parents he is going to have. I cannot wait to hear from you. Take care and remember to breathe. He will love you.
We're so thrilled for you. Know that as your personal countdown clock gets to the final moments, your Atlanta family and fan club (all our friends who have been in your shoes not too long ago) are cheering for you and sending our best wishes. I only wish I could send some Pepto, too! We can't wait to welcome Van!
How exciting!!! You're so very, very close and I couldn't be happier for you!
Please let us know what orphanage you're working with, when you have a moment. We have 2 different friends in Baltimore who just so happened to have adopted 3 different children from the same Guanzhou orphanage (unknown to them) -- The Nanchang SWI. If by freak chance it's the same orphanage, they would love to hear how things are. They heard the orphanage survived the earthquake but had some structural issues and that the kids are temporarily living in tents. Let us know if you have any scoop.
Regardless, congratulations! We're sending loving family thoughts your way.
Congrats on your safe passage. And for landing 888! All my love to you guys for a healthy, happy, awesome day with Van! I hope you guys continue to feel all the love and support from all of us back here at home. We're so happy for all three of you, and can't wait to meet Van.
(Of course, now it has occurred to me that you may not be reading these comments until after you've already welcomed the little guy - in which case - Congratulations and Welcome Van!)
