Okay, 1:14pm in Guangzhou and we've finally gotten him down for the nap.
First off, thank all of you for the wonderful words and encouragement - and for following along with us on this amazing journey. It really means a lot to both of us.
Secondly, holy crap. This kid is awesome. He's smart, eats big boy food, and can bring us what he wants. We've gotten a few big belly laughs out of him and the cleft is really not all the bad. Should be a fairly routine procedure back in the states.
I've gotten peed on twice.
For those of you reading who are waiting to come here: Shamian Island is very nice and a great change-of-pace from Beijing. Lots of English, lots of American families here doing the same thing we are. Food is much more Western, which is nice.
Speaking of food, whomever invented Cheerios should get whatever is above the Nobel Peace Prize. It's like crack for toddlers. Cheerios and Goldfish. I might make a spec spot out of the video I shot with my miniDV camera, it's that amazing.
So, Van. He's an eater. Like, two-fisting soft rolls and whole wheat bread while we spoonfeed him some Gerber Pears. In a lot of these shots he's eating, because that's basically his favorite thing to do right now.
I'll let T write up all the stuff about the actual 'Gotcha' moment ... for now, since I know it's what y'all want, here are some more pics:
