So apparently we should never waste food...even food under the table of strangers eating at a restaurant...Van can spot it a mile away and feels very inclined to let everyone know they dropped something and he would be happy to take it off their hands and eat it. We attempted our first dinner out like grown-ups tonight with our traveling partners and their adorable little girl and our agency facilitator. Michael Li of OCDF has been awesome. He's done this a million times...he tells us when to show up, what to bring and how long it will take. Then he does all the talking and we just write up the same information over and over again and hand it to yet another government official. Tomorrow is Free Day and we are really hoping that the dreary gray wet HUMID weather takes a turn. We took a big walk today despite the drizzle, had a world class meltdown at Starbucks...yes Virginia, there is a coffee god here in China and then did a little shopping. More shopping will be in order since the prices are great and it helps pass the down time. One week and counting till we get on the big plane. We are really missing home and friends and family but the large number of adoptive families here and all the empathy they offer has been just amazing. Can't seem to get any photos to post tonight...so stand by for new pix tomorrow AM which will be Thursday PM for all of you...man this is confusing...

What great photos! Van's facial expressions are amazing. The pic. starring out the window gives us a good idea of his size. Typical little boy - short legs long turso.
Be thankful that he's a good eater. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to pump food into a child who doesn't want to eat. You'll have to teach him the 3 sec. rule about food that's been dropped on the floor (only joking).
We're happy to hear that you've met some nice people. Like to see a photo of them w/their baby.
It's wonderful that Van has warmed up to you so quickly. Shows his good taste.
We understand that your anxious to get home as we're anxious to see you both & meet the little man.
Wow!! You guys are doing an amzing job with your posts! I am so glued to your blog!
The photos is the previous post are amzazing - I, too love the one of Tracey and Van sleeping, how precious!
Do you guys have an elevator at the hotel? Next to the plastic bottles that was our biggest thrill/hit! And riding around on the luggage cart, of course!
It sounds like he is keeping you guys quite busy - Austin nad Logan are ready to punce, ur..um...play with Van ASAP! When they see his picture they "kiss" him. I think it's the resemblance!
